As COVID-19 continues to change lives and communities throughout Southeast Asia, we at SEAN-CSO remain impressed with the work that our members are doing to adjust their peacebuilding initiatives and serve their communities.
Throughout the month of May, SEAN-CSO’s campaign focused on the role of education in preventing violent extremism. Education on peace and tolerance from a young age, in higher education, and in religious studies can restrain radicalization efforts and prevent violent extremism. This month highlights research regarding education and tolerance, showcases the stories of people working to use education for peacebuilding, and features some of the programs that educate children and adults on this subject.
